Top Dog Duel - BYOE (Bring Your Own Enemy)

The Adventure
You and your enemy for the day will fly in Varga VG-21s. The propeller-driven Vargas have excellent climbing and turning ability and feature tandem seating and joystick controls. Bring along your wife, best friend, boss, mother-in-law or kid. Fighting with the ones you love can be a good thing when the fight takes place in the sky.

Flights depart from Montgomery Field in San Diego, California.

$596 for a duet (If you don’t have an enemy, tell us and we’ll find you one.)

The Planes
The aircraft started out life as the Morrisey Nifty, designed by Douglas Aircraft test pilot Bill Morrisey just after World War II. The design was later modified and produced by Varga until the mid-1980’s. The US Navy and Air Force bought and flew variants of the design. One of our aircraft was operated by the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Though not technically military aircraft, they’re great fun to fly.

Restrictions
If you weigh anything close to 230 pounds soaking wet, this adventure isn’t for you. If you’re taller than 6’5”, you should be playing basketball and not trying to fit in a Varga. Those with weak stomachs also need not apply. Other than that, if you’re between the ages of 10 and 110, we’d love to have you.

Scheduling
Advance reservations are required. Flights are offered almost every Saturday and Sunday with missions starting at 11 AM, 1 PM and 3 PM.

Can I give this as a gift? Certainly! Many people do.

Do I get a video? No. And the planes don’t have fancy laser gun and sound systems either. Trust us when we say you’ll still have an incredible time and get a real dogfighting experience.

How does scheduling work? When you pay your money, you receive a flight ticket and the top secret phone number you’ll need to call to reserve your Top Dog dogfighting adventure. Tickets are valid up to one year from purchase.If you don’t show up for your scheduled flight, you’ll make us mad and we’ll keep your money.

Is it safe? Everything in life is risky and you will need to sign a waiver signing away your life before climbing into the cockpit. That said, in 10 years of flying, our partners have a perfect safety record.
