The Adventure:
Designed for a true "wingnut" and his or her flying companion,
this program has it all. You and a lucky someone will enjoy
flights in three incredible airplanes.
Start the adrenaline flowing with a 60-minute
bi-plane ride. Next, it’s into a pair of Vargas to do battle
in a dogfight. Once one of you has recovered from the agony
of defeat, you’ll take separate flights in the SNJ, a great
WWII warbird.
Bring your wife, your son, your girlfriend, your
boss, your best friend, your cousin or your grandmother. This
program allows you to share the fun.
The Wing Nut Flying Adventure includes:
(Note: All this excitement is a bit much for one
day, so we suggest you schedule your flights over two days.)
The Location:
Flights depart from Montgomery Field in San Diego, California.
The Planes:
You'll fly 3 incredible aircraft:

Flight 1: Travel Air
Bi-Plane
Of the 1400 built between 1924 and 1930, only
about 50 are still flying today and we have two of them.
Features side-by-side seating for two in the front (pilot
in the rear).

Flight 2: Varga
VG-21s
The Air Combat portion of your adventure will take place
in the Varga. The planes
feature tandem seating and joystick controls and offer excellent
climbing and turning performance. |

Flight 3: SNJ
The Warbird you’ll fly is the SNJ, which is essentially
a T-6. It was designed to be a basic combat trainer for
WWII and beyond.

If you’d like more specifics about the planes,
please ask. Or, you can take our word for it…they’re
all really great planes!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can anyone fly?
Almost! You should be in reasonably good health and each aircraft
has height and weight restrictions. If you’re taller or
shorter than most, or heavier or lighter than most, please let
us know in advance.
What if my friend doesn’t want to do the warbird flight?
That means you’re lucky and get two flights in the SNJ.
There is no refund for unused flights. We might let you bring
in a substitute friend. Ask. We’re nice people. We’ll
work with you.
