APRIL 2016 - Issue 2 - Celebrating Space |
Happy Cosmonautics
Day! |
April 12th is the 55th Anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's Historic
Flight
On April 12, 1961, Russian cosmonaut
Yuri Gagarin made history by becoming the first man in space. Twenty years later, on April 12, 1981, the US launched its very first space
shuttle. That makes April 12th a very important day in space history.
Each year, on April 12, people around the globe gather to commemorate "Yuri's Night", a day devoted to celebrating humanity's
past, present and future in space. Space-themed parties are planned in countries all over the world. You can find a listing of some of the
scheduled events on the Yuri's Night website. You can also
celebrate this big day in space history by watching a space movie or listening to space-themed music. Be sure to check out our recommended space music playlist.

The View is Incredible
The MiG-29 flies its highest in cold weather, but it still flies really,
really high in the summer. Expect to climb from 17 to 18 km high (over 10 miles up!) in June and July. Thanks to favorable exchange rates, edge of space flight prices are the best they've been
in years. Contact Greg for a custom price quote.
All IA flying adventures include high-quality video and

Zero Gravity
Adventures Are Available in Florida
Schedule a private zero-gravity adventure in Florida with Incredible Adventures and
Aurora Aerospace. Our personal zero-gravity flights are easy to schedule and start at just $2500 per person. Each flight is designed to accommodate no
more than two participants, insuring a very personalized space training experience and maximum floating space.
You'll experience micro-gravity with an FAA-certified pilot and flight
instructor who has completed civilian space training at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Russia. Flights take-off from St
Pete-Clearwater International Airport, located on Florida's Gulf Coast. The airport is less than 30 minutes from Tampa and less than two hours by car
from Orlando.
Our zero-g plane simulates the weightlessness of space by performing a
series of in-air special maneuvers known as "parabolas". During each parabola, participants experience roughly 10 seconds of
weightlessness. A typical flight lasts about an hour and consists of up to 10 parabolas, so there's plenty of time to float, flip and fly through the
cabin.
