For $2.25 million, you and two friends can visit the most exclusive destination on the planet and earn a place in history. More than 500 people have been to space. Just seven have traveled to the Pacific's Mariana Trench, the deepest known point in the ocean.
Our friends at EYOS Expeditions and Caladan Oceanic will be returning to the Mariana Trench this June. Up to three people can join the expedition as Mission Specialists, helping to both fund and conduct valuable ocean science.
Mission specialists will travel to Challenger Deep, the deepest part of the Mariana Trench, in the submersible "Limiting Factor". This is the same submersible that business man and explorer Victor Vescovo used last year to make his record-setting Mariana Trench descent of 35,853 ft.
Dive The Hudson Canyon
For $75,000, you and up to two friends can explore Hudson Canyon, looking for shipwrecks and documenting marine life. It's an incredible scientific adventure led by our friends at OceanGate Expeditions.
Mission Specialist Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age at mission start time
- Must be able to board small boats in rough seas
- Must be able to adapt to changing conditions
- Must be in reasonably good health and able to climb ladders, lift 20 pounds and demonstrate basic balance.
Sample Mission Itinerary:
Day 1: Board a luxury motor yacht in lower Manhattan in time for an early evening departure. Once underway, join scientists and fellow crew for a detailed safety and mission briefing, led by the Mission Director. Retire to your cabin. Overnight travel to Hudson Canyon, roughly 100 miles offshore.
Day 2: Early morning arrival at dive site. After a light breakfast, you'll receive another dive briefing and then transfer to the submersible that will carry you on an amazing undersea journey. You'll explore the Hudson Canyon for three or more hours, carefully documenting all you see and communicating info to the surface. After your dive, there will be a detailed de-brief and celebratory dinner. You'll then retire to your cabin for the overnight trip back to Manhattan.
Day 3: Late morning arrival back in New York City. Depart the dock with new knowledge of the deep and memories to last a lifetime, knowing you played a role in advancing ocean research. No Need to Go Deep to See Sharks
For $825, you can cage dive at San Francisco's Farallon Islands, one of the best places in the world to view adult white sharks. For $475, you can stay on the boat and act as a lookout, scanning the horizon for fins and predations.
The Farallon Islands are located roughly 30 miles off the coast of San Francisco and have been called "California's Galapagos". In addition to being the seasonal home of some of the planet's biggest white sharks, the iislands are home to the largest seabird breeding colony in the continental US.
Peak shark season at the Farallones runs from September 15 - November 30. Incredible Adventures operates its expeditions on select dates during this prime time.
Trips depart from San Francisco's Pier 40 and are conducted under an education permit, issued to Incredible Adventures by the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary. Learn more, check availability and book online at cagediver.com.
