NEW URBAN OPS: HOSTAGE RESCUE

Little
Rock, Arkansas
Your Urban Ops Adventure takes place at the Direct Action Resource Center,
a 734-acre urban ops training facility located in North Little Rock
(see
map). Don't bother asking a local for directions. Until now, the
facility has been a secret shared only with military teams and law enforcement
agencies. Someday soon, we might even put a sign up out front. For now,
have no fear. We'll pick you up at your hotel and get you to the action.
As for Little Rock,
you might be surprised at how much it has to offer and how easy it is
to get there. (CLICK
HERE to see chart showing distances to Little Rock from many American
cities.)
Accommodations
Lodging
is not included in your adventure package. We recommend you stay at
the DoubleTree
Hotel, located just 20 minutes from the facility in downtown Little
Rock. (Five-star hotel options can be provided upon request.) The DoubleTree
is reasonably priced and located a short walk from Little Rock's new
River Market District, plus they give you these incredible cookies when
you check in. It's located across from the city's courthouse, so if
you're up early, you can watch prisoners being escorted into the building.
Access to a riverfront park is directly behind the hotel.
Places
in downtown you won't want to miss
The River Market: a great area along the riverfront,
filled with restaurants, shops and nightclubs. You can find everything
from steak and seafood to Cajun cooking and British pub fare within
a short walk.
The
Flying Saucer: a British pub with a menu featuring 192 kinds
of beer. They also have pool tables and sell great t-shirts for the
buddies back home.
The
Underground Pub: This is another fun place serving up Guinness and
lots of British chow along with live entertainment. We have no clue
why the Brits seem to have invaded downtown Little Rock. Play pool and
darts if your arms still work after all the shooting you've been doing
at Urban Ops.
Tuesdays USA:
Go here for Cajun food and foo-foo frozen drinks.
Doe's:
Don't go for the atmosphere. The place isn't pretty. Go because they
sell their meat by the pound. Training at Urban Ops can work up a very
manly appetite.
Fancy Stuff:
If you prefer your combat mission with a touch more luxury, you can
stay and or dine at the five-star Peabody Hotel or Capital
Hotel. Both are located in the same great area.
Other Stuff that Makes Little Rock Cool
Little Rock is a
sports town. There's minor league baseball (The
Arkansas Travelers), hockey and arena football. See if there's a
concert at the Convention Center next to the DoubleTree, the Arkansas
Symphony, or what's going on at the Alltel
Arena across the river.
