An IA Exclusive - The New "Double HALO" |
Schedule a "double
HALO" and you'll make two incredible high-altitude, military style skydives in the very same day. Your second jump will be timed to occur
just before sunset, to insure an incredible view of the setting sun and the land below.
Our high-altitude jump operations are based at the West Tennessee
Skydiving Center, located a little over an hour from Memphis. Halojumpers leap from a modified B90 King Air aircraft. The extreme altitude
of the jump means all skydivers are fitted with special oxygen equipment and parachutes.
"HALO" stands for "high altitude, low open". In the military, HALO jumps are made to help troops avoid detection by enemy
forces. The jump profile gets soldiers on the ground quickly and can help them surprise the enemy. We jump from approximately 30,000 feet,
which provides twice the high-speed freefall of a standard jump, and open a little higher than the military would, in order to give jumpers time to
enjoy the incredible view.
No prior
skydiving experience is required. All Double HALO Skydives are tandem jumps, so you'll fall toward earth
tightly strapped to an experienced skydiver, certified as a tandem instructor by the United States Parachuting Association.
Availability is limited. The cost for training,
use of jump and video equipment and two High Altitude Skydives is $7700. Single jump adventures are also available. Call or email for more info.

It's always a great time to fly a MiG over
Russia, but if extreme altitude is your goal, it's best to schedule your Edge of Space flight for a winter month. The MiG-29 performs best and flies highest in cold weather.
Dare to fly over 60,000 feet high at more than
1000 mph. At altitude, the sky appears black above and blue below. Russia is currently the only place in the world where a civilian can
fly that high and that fast.
No pilot's license is necessary. You'll fly with an experienced Russian test pilot at the Nizhny Novgorod Aircraft Building Plant
Sokol.

Each October, San Francisco honors the men and women of
the United States Armed Forces with "Fleet Week", a
special multi-day event along San Francisco's waterfront. The annual celebration of America's sea services features a grand parade of ships and
an air show, starring the incredible US Navy Blue Angels.
Read more about San Francisco's Fleet Week and see the schedule of activities here.
The Farallones Marine
Sanctuary Association is offering the opportunity to watch the parade of ships and airshow from a prime viewing spot on their lawn on Friday,
October 9th, from 11 am to 4 pm. The $125 per person price includes seating, parking, a food buffet and two drinks. Only 75 total tickets are
available. For complete details, contact ckelley@farallones.org. The non-profit group works to protect
white sharks and other wildlife within the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, where our San Francisco shark dive adventures take
place.
You can follow up
your fun day watching big boats and fast jets with members of the Farallones Association, with a Saturday trip to the Farallon Islands to cage dive
with great white sharks. We still have several cage diving spots available aboard our Saturday, October 10th great white shark dive
expedition. Visit our website, call or email for more information.
