This "Bad Kitty" is a Real Tigercat Thanks to a new partnership with the Historic Flight Foundation near Seattle, Washington, Incredible Adventures is now able to offer a multi-day flying adventure featuring three classic warbirds: the F7F-3 Tigercat, the B-25 Mitchell and the T-6 Texan. The Foundation's Tigercat, christened "Bad Kitty" is one black cat you want to cross your path. It's one of just six Grumman Tigercats still flying today. Grumman designed the Tigercat to be the Navy's first twin-engine fighter capable of launching from Midway carriers, but the new fighter flunked its carrier landing tests. The plane saw no service in World War II but was used as a low-level fighter and photo reconnaissance plane in the Korean War. By 1954, almost all Tigercats were headed to the scrap heap. Luckily, "Bad Kitty" was one of several rescued and given new lives as fire fighters. "Bad Kitty" flew over 1300 hours as a fire fighter. If cats have nine lives, "Bad Kitty" is now on Life #3, helping visitors to the Historic Flight Foundation experience aviation history first hand. In addition to a flight in "Bad Kitty", our new Warbirds Over Washington Adventure includes a flight in "Grumpy", a B-25 Bomber and a T-6, that probably has a name too, but we don't know it. The $10,500 price also includes ground transfers from Seattle/Tacoma Airport to the Historic Flight Foundation's home in the nearby town of Mukilteo, plus waterfront accommodations and Boeing Tour tickets. (There is no extra charge to "split" the package with a friend. Ask us for details if you're interested.) This program is so new, it's not on our website yet, so if you want more information, you need to give us a call or send us an email. We have, however, posted a great Tigercat video taken at the famous Reno Air Races on the Featured Videos page of our site. Mission Accomplished We've been on a mission to locate another Douglas DC-3 available for introductory flights and pilot training. (The DC-3 flights we've been offering near Atlanta are not currently available.) We're excited to announce that we've found one! We can't release all the details just yet, but if you've been dying to get into a DC-3, give us a call or send us an email. We can make it happen....some place sunny...not far from a beach...or our office. Now's the Time to Apply to Fly in July This warning goes out to all procrastinators and last-minute planners. It can take up to 60 days to obtain the necessary security clearance to fly a MiG-29 in Russia. Most of our adventures can be arranged with very little advance notice, but a MiG adventure requires advance planning. Look at it this way....that gives you more time to look forward to the thrill of flying in a legendary MiG. For Those Who Fly By the Seat of Their Pants* Let's say you get the sudden urge to fly a fighter jet and can't bring yourself to wait two months. We do have an option for you. If you can get yourself to California or Florida, we can sometimes arrange a flying adventure with as little as a few days' notice. Flying in an L-39 jet trainer is not the same as flying in a MiG-29, but it's an incredible adventure without a doubt. *Sorry. Sometimes, we can't resist the urge to use American slang, even though we know some of our readers are from other countries and might not "get it". We don't have a lot of Facebook friends and we'd like to have more, but liking us in entirely optional. We'll still like you even if you don't like us. Forward
