San Francisco Shark Diving FAQ
What kind of sharks are in the area?
Adult great white sharks that can be 15 to 20 feet long.
Do I need dive to be dive certified to shark dive?
No. One of our certified dive instructors will teach you everything you need to know on the way to the Farallones. Incredible Adventures uses a floating shark cage and surface-supplied air, so cage diving in San Francisco is a bit like snorkeling.
How long are the shark diving trips?
Plan for a 12-hour day, although your trip could be shorter, depending on sea conditions and shark activity.
Where do we board the shark boat?
Trips depart from South Beach Harbor at San Francisco's Pier 40. The dock is next to famous AT&T Park, where the San Francisco Giants play baseball.
What is the cost?
Cage divers pay $825, plus the cost of mandatory trip insurance. The cage diving price includes the use of a wetsuit and other dive equipment. (Topside observers pay $475 and are also required to purchase insurance.)
Am I guaranteed to see sharks?
No. There is a chance you will not. We'll do everything we can to help you see sharks, but we cannot control nature. We anchor in a location known for heavy shark activity and deploy seal-shaped decoys designed to lure sharks closer to our boat and cage. (The use of bait is prohibited under Federal law.)

October 5, October 19, October 26, November 2, November 9 and November 16. (Private and group charters can be arranged on other dates.)

Adventures for Licensed Pilots
Incredible Adventures is best known for offering flying adventures for non-pilots, but we also offer a variety of hands-on flight training exclusively for licensed pilots.
