Men Fall for Charity - HALO Adventure Raises $32,000 for School in South Africa Those of you who read this newsletter on a regular basis know how much we love the comments and notes we get from customers when they return from an adventure. From time to time, we share their words with you. Here's what IA customer Yanik Silver wrote to us just last week: "I am now officially the 40th civilian to have done a tandem HALO skydive. I have to tell you - some crazy thoughts go through your head as you see the door opening and you are 28,500 feet above the earth! I do some crazy adventures but this was right up there as one of the top ones. We got 2:15 minutes of freefall which was totally cool and above and beyond any other skydive. Even better, my buddies Mike Filsaime (tandem HALO jumper 41) and Rob Olic (tandem HALO jumper 42) helped raise over $32,000 for The Branson School of Entrepreneurship in South Africa. We held a "fall-a-thon" instead of a "walk-a-thon" and the local Lumberton NBC station even came out to report on it." Yanik is a regular customer of ours. He and Mike are part of an exclusive business group called Maverick Business Adventures. Membership is by invitation only and includes successful business owners, entrepreneurs and CEOs who want to live life to the fullest, create business breakthroughs and give back through charity and education. "Mavericks" combine incredible adventures, like our HALO jumping, zero-gravity flights and shark dives, with business sessions and high level networking. (For more information about Maverick Business Adventures, visit their website.) If you'd like to make your own high-altitude skydive, give us a call. The cost is $3495 and scheduling is easy. Fly the Aviator, Meet a Legendary Explorer You can read all about Captain Alfred Scott McLaren, USN (Ret), Phd. and his famous Arctic expeditions in the July issue of Men's Journal magazine. (We've posted the article to our website.) To us, he's just Fred, one of our Aviator pilots. To the world, he's a legendary underwater explorer, President Emeritus of the prestigious Explorer's Club, a decorated Cold War submarine commander and book author. Captain Fred loves teaching people to fly the Super Aviator, a two-seat submersible that flies beneath the see like an underwater airplane. Flight schools are offered in a variety of tropical locations. Training ranges in price from $4950 to $15,000 and no prior dive experience is required. For more information, email us or click here. Countdown to Everest Final preparations continue for the first ever Skydive Everest. Individuals from all over the world will gather in Nepal the end of September to make history. (Read the July 8th press release sent out by our friends at High and Wild.) A few spots remain available. The cost is currently $35,000 to jump tandem, $26,250 to jump solo and $7770 to be part of the excitement from the ground. .
